KRAMSACH, AUSTRIA : Last week's singles champion in Telfs, Austria, Marc Rath suffered a shock first round elimination at the hands of fellow Austrian Dennis Novak, a Wild Card entrant as he looked to win back-to-back titles.
The number one seed went down in three sets 76(6) 16 64 and victory for Novak gained him revenge for a loss by an almost identical score line back in late May in Jablonec Nad Nisou, Czech Republic.
Rath was one of five seeds, including the second seed, to crash out in the opening round.
